Canadian Navy Veteran Eric Heighton requires a wheelchair accessible van and he was recently in an online contest to win one but we were unsuccessful in helping him win although he had over 64,000 votes.
A long time family friend Beth Sinnis has started a "Go Fund Me" campaign for Eric and his wife and we have joined forces with them to attempt to help him raise enough funds to be able to purchase a van.
So now let me tell you a little more about Canadian NAVY Veteran Eric Heighton.
On Jan. 1st 2003, Eric got out of bed in the early hours of the morning sleep walking and fell down our basement stairs breaking his neck in three places , leaving him a complete quad, he is paralyzed from his neck down and now needs 24/7 care but he has never lost his smile or his love of life.
A few months ago on our page we joined forces with Eric’s family to try and help him WIN a van via the mobile awareness website. With over 60,000 votes Eric made the semi-finals but we were not able to make this happen.
Friends of Eric have now come together and we’ve decided to join forces with them to make this happen for Eric & his family anyway. A family friend Beth Sinnis has started a campaign through the “Go Fund Me” website to raise money to purchase a van for Eric.
100% of the funds raised will be going directly to Eric’s wife to purchase a Van for him and we are hoping we won’t fail at making this happen.
We have almost 80,000 people on our Facebook page if everyone donated $1.00 to this cause we’d make this happen in a week.
